Listed below are all the important items used in Cardcaptor Sakura ranging from the Clow key to the Moon bell. All of these items are used throughout the series in both the manga and anime and are vital for the capturing of Clow cards.

Clow Reed created the Clow book and it contains 52 magical cards called Clow Cards. When Clow Reed was dying, he sealed the magical cards in the Clow book and he made it so that only someone with strong magical powers would be able to unlock the book. The book is red and golden and has an image of Kerberos with his wings outstretched and the sun and on the back is Yue and the moon. On the front of the book, there is a scroll, which says ‘The Clow.’

The Sakura book was originally the Clow book but when Sakura became the master of the Clow cards, the Clow book transformed into the Sakura book. The book is slightly similar to the Clow book although the whole book is pink instead of red. Clow’s magic circle on the front of the book has transformed into Sakura’s magic circle and at the front of the book, the scroll now reads ‘Sakura’ instead of ‘Clow.’ Also, all around the book, there are stars on the front and back of the book.

Clow Reed created the Clow Cards and they are a combination of both Eastern and Western magic where each Clow card has their own unique role and special power. On the front of the Clow card’s, there is an image of the Clow card and its name. On the back of the card, there is Clow’s Magic circle with the Sun and the moon.

After Sakura capturing all the Clow Cards, She became the Master of the Clow cards and the magic that was left behind by Clow Reed started to fade away. The Cards depended on Sakura's Magic rather than Clow Reed's Magic since she was the new master. The design of the card also changed and the colour of the cards are now pink and there is a large yellow star on Sakura’s magic circle.

The Clow Key transforms into the Clow wand, which is also known as the sealing wand. To use this wand, Sakura must use an incantation for it to transform and also when she needs to use the Clow cards, she must also use an incantation to use them. Sakura uses the wand to capture and seal the Clow Cards. The Clow wand is very long and has the same bird image on the top of the key.

The Star key used to be the Clow key before Sakura became the master of the Clow cards. The key hangs around Sakura’s neck on a piece of string and it is easy to access when she wants to use the Sakura cards or transform the Clow cards into Sakura Cards. The key is similar to the Clow key although instead of a bird with wings on the top of the Key, there is a circle with a yellow star in the centre. This time, the key is pink rather than a golden colour.

The star wand is pretty much the same as the Clow wand as it is only the transformed version of the Staff. When Sakura became mistress of the Clow cards, she needed her own magical power to change the Clow cards into Sakura Cards. In order to do that, the Clow wand transformed to the Star wand using the power of the stars which is Sakura’s magic. For the star wand to be released, an incantation similar to the incantation used to release the Clow wand is used.

The star staff transforms into a different star staff when Sakura, Kerberos and Yue combine their powers to change the Light and the dark card to Sakura cards. The star staff now appears to have a sun and moon along with the star which is then used to transform the two last Clow cards to break Eriol’s spell.

The Lasin board is used to locate Clow cards. It mainly searches for the magic powers, which then tracks the power so that the location of the magical power is revealed. The board can also be used to search for a person although the board that can only be used by someone with magical powers.

Syaoran’s sword is very powerful and is used by Syaoran to use the Clow cards and Ofuda. The sword takes on the form of a tiny ball, which can then be transformed, into the sword by using a special incantation. The sword has a lot of magical power and can use various elements such as lightning and fire when Syaoran commands. The sword is also used for martial arts and without the sword, Syaoran is unable to use any Clow cards.

Ofuda is a small yellow piece of paper which has special Chinese symbols written on it. Any ordinary Ofuda are used for good luck although Syaoran uses Ofuda that carry magical powers. Syaoran uses them for very offensive attacks using elemental magical power.

Eriol’s Staff carries all of Clow’s Magic and it is used to transform Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun’s into their true forms. When Sakura becomes the mistress of the Clow Cards, Eriol uses the power in the staff to create unusual events in which Sakura would have to transform the Clow cards into Sakura cards. When not in use, it assumes the form of a small key.

This bell is used by Kaho Mizuki to give Sakura a second chance in the final judgement. Clow originally left the bell behind for Eriol, who then gave it to Kaho. The bell has the power to break through the Maze card and also free Sakura from the Wood card in the final Judgement. At the end of the final Judgement, the bell has served it’s purpose and disappears.
